The other day I heard the bailout was estimated at 2 trillion dollars. Yesterday I heard it's at 7 trillion dollars. 7 TRILLION DOLLARS!! When it was estimated at 2, it was said that that was more than the gross domestic product of Canada or Mexico. Mathematically, does that mean now it is more than the gdp of both Canada and Mexico combined.
I understand and somewhat sympathize with the argument that the bailout is needed to keep people working. I say somewhat because in a way I say we need to deal with the mess we created but I know the wrong people would be dealing with it. At the same time, I do not agree with this notion that we must accept the terms of any bailout plan. Yesterday I was watching the news, CNN I think, and one of the guests had said that we need the bailout so badly, so what if that means some people at the top get bonuses. Why is this something that ordinary working folx accept? Ordinary working folx have been making their sacrifices and changes. Saving rates have gone up, people have cut down on gas by 5%, which is part of the reason we've seen it go down so much, basically folx are aware of the situation and they're making changes. Yet,it's these same folx that are going to feel it when the bailout has to be paid off through their taxes.
So again I ask, can I get a bailout? If we used say 7 TRILLION DOLLARS to help out regular working folx, do you think we could help them feel a little more secure? If ordinary working folx, did not have to worry about this bill or that bill, do you think their newfound security could result with a little bit of extra cash to maybe focus on other expenses, keeping their homes, or stimulating the economy somehow? It's the working folx that have been the diligent workers that have done nothing wrong, so is there a way to help the folx that have been there doing what they need to do rather than the people that have just straight up screwed us? Where's my bailout?!!

Props show Discrimination still exists...
After the election of the first black president, propositions act as a reality check that discrimination still exists. While it is argued by some that gay marriages were defeated by popular vote and the democratic process, should taking people's right to marry be something that could be voted away? What other rights could the majority take away from people?
And, let me point out that media is full of it. First of all, it is not the fault of black folx alone. Media has been trying to say that black folx are the reason why these props passed. I know there are people of color that voted for it and they should educated on how they too can act as oppressors but the fault isn't all theirs. Media has tried to place the blame on blacks without putting any kind of blame on Others.
Gay marriages are not going to cause the destruction of the united states but continued oppression and new avenues of oppression can be.

a black president
Wow! That's all I've been saying since Barack Obama was elected president on November 4, 2008. I can only imagine how those who lived through segregation feel. I didn't think I would see the day america would vote for a person of color to be president so young in my life. I thought maybe when i'm 60 or something. I guess i'll stick around in this country for a little longer..haha. No but seriously, I don't know what I would of done if McCain had won. Obama is no savior and in no way perfect. It's amazing how the world is reacting to his election.
There can still be arguments against what kind of a black president was elected but for the moment I think we do have acknowledge the election of any person of color to be president is just i don't know...remarkable, crazy, shocking. And, unlike what many folx are saying, injustices and racism still exist and many people of color still don't have the opportunity to succeed like Obama has. Obama's success should not be used to ignore the racism that people of color still experience on a day to day basis. His election does not solve racism but it does mark future possibilities.
