After the election of the first black president, propositions act as a reality check that discrimination still exists. While it is argued by some that gay marriages were defeated by popular vote and the democratic process, should taking people's right to marry be something that could be voted away? What other rights could the majority take away from people?
And, let me point out that media is full of it. First of all, it is not the fault of black folx alone. Media has been trying to say that black folx are the reason why these props passed. I know there are people of color that voted for it and they should educated on how they too can act as oppressors but the fault isn't all theirs. Media has tried to place the blame on blacks without putting any kind of blame on Others.
Gay marriages are not going to cause the destruction of the united states but continued oppression and new avenues of oppression can be.
